To reach climate goals, we need to be able to build houses with close to zero carbon footprints and, if possible, carbon negative before 2050.
To support this, the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a global non-profit education and research institute supported by its members, is concentrating its efforts on sharing knowledge applied to decarbonization through the C Change initiative, which was recently launched at a summit in Brussels.
Another major priority of the Urban Land Institute is housing and the affordability of housing. The concentration of research efforts and sharing of good practices on a global scale, involving American, European and Asian members at the highest level, aims to create the tools to tackle the enormous challenge of creating affordable homes and thereby fulfilling the promise of inclusion of all in our cities.
At ULI Portugal, we have just created the Residential Council, led by Miguel Kreiseler, which will promote the sharing of this global knowledge for Portuguese members, extending the universe of solutions and enabling residential solutions to be accessible to the average family. Advisory services are at the foundation of ULI’s activity around the world, bringing together a unique network of real estate professionals from diverse backgrounds around a common theme – housing, in a spirit of seeking and sharing solutions that make ULI the largest and oldest interdisciplinary real estate organization in the world.
